State Highway 69 near Half way between Dewey and Prescott Valley, Arizona

Prescott Valley, ArizonaOct 02, 20083 Comments

Inocuous photo radar trap on state highway 69 between Dewey and Prescott Valley. Also the interior streets in Prescott Valley have photo radar at most intersections. The whole town is just one big speed trap. Take Fain Rd. at Prescott Country Club in Dewey and go around Prescott Valley to Hwy. 89, then left to Prescott. Avoid Precott Valley at all cost.

Comments:
This is a permanently installed photo radar camera and strobe, triggered by loops in the pavement in the northbound (westbound) lanes only. Speed limit is 55 MPH. Trigger was 11MPH over (66 MPH) when first installed, but that may have changed. Locals know about it so revenue has diminished. It will still get an unsuspecting guest to Prescott Valley and Prescott. What a nice welcome! :(

It's a fair speed limit for the large amount of traffic the road handles. You can hardly avoid going through this area since it's the only road to Prescott from the east and that includes the airport, access to I-40 and I-17. There is a high number of very serious accidents on this road. I was a police officer/accident investigator in this area for years.

The camera's and Radar are posted as you enter the city limits. Read the signs and drive the speed limit. and Welcome to safe Prescott Valley.
