State Highway 7

Water Valley, MississippiJul 20, 20031 Comments

This is a bypass of the City of Water Valley. The area is overly patrolled leaving the city itself underprotected. Myself and many others believe that it is simply a revenue generating device for the city. The city limits extend far beyond any resemblence of a city. My main problem with them is they gave me a ticket for doing 70 when I was not going that fast. I was keeping pace with the cars directly in front of me. A car was coming up behind me faster than I was traveling. We were in a curve and I honestly believe that he detected the car coming up on me. He assured me that it was not possible. My wife and myself both were looking at the speedometer when we came into the area because we new they were bad about giving tickets. My speed was at least five miles an hour less than what he ticketed me for. In his own words they do not usually ticket people going 65 or less. I plan to fight the ticket and refuse to pay a ticket for a rate of speed that I was traveling.

Comments:
Never assume they will not ticket you if your only doing 65, the policeman out there was like a fisherman, he cannot catch all the fish in the lake, you got snagged with the hook.
