Comments:
I disagree that this is a speed trap. It is located at the same location that the speed limit increases from 55 to 70 going east out of Kinston, so naturally, there would be a reduction to the west bound traffic at the same location. I have checked it many times and if you are running 70mph and get off the gas exactly at the reduce speed sign, your vehicle will be running 55mph when you pass the 55mph speed limit sign. Anything else is your own doing. The high number of tickets in this area of 70 is due to the people who don't pay attention to the speed drop and besides that, the ones caught were probably speeding in the 70mph part of US 70 anyway. Believe me, I ride that road a lot running the speed limit and I get passed a lot. I don't think they are being trapped there.

I agree with you, I drive this everyday and it is no way a speed trap, I guess the original individual got himself in trouble in that area for not paying attention to signs and his/her speed
