State Highway 70

Saint Martin Parish, LouisianaJun 06, 20073 Comments

I’ve traveled the stretch of HWY 70 between Pierre Part and Morgan City too often. You Must watch for State Troopers. I myself have gotten a ticket there, the trooper was nowhere to be seen until I had passed him, he was sitting behind the levy wall in one of the openings. Before I knew it he was tailing me and writing a ticket. It’s best to just go the posted speed limit instead of paying the fine!

Comments:
Now that makes good drivers sense. Do the speed limit and you will be ok.

There is a bridge on route 70. Speed limit goes from 70 to 60 with a reminder about 1/2 mile down the road. As soon as i got to the 60 mph sign a truck blocked my view as i was passing him in left lane. I was going 73. Cop had to pass the truck that blocked my view to get to me. Then I saw the next sign that said 60, but by then it was too late. The cop wrote out half the ticket before he even got out of his car. Fine for the 13 miles over speed limit? $244.50. Will never set foot in La. again. I sent a lot of money to help flood victims. will never help that state again.

I've always heard watch out for the deep deep south as they will suck you dry.$244.50 for 13 miles over speed limit. Give me a break. Guess this is how low they have to stoop to generate income. Not a good place to visit.
