State Highway 77 entering town from North
Watch out as you enter city limits from the North. The speed limit goes from 55 to 45 to 35 within a very short distance. The Chipley Police will be there waiting. It is so easy to be going over the limit by just decellerating. You must use your brakes to slow down or they will get you!

Apparently those who have been stopped at the so called, "speed trap" deserved to be stopped! I have lived in Chipley all my life...I travel that section of road frequently and have never seen anyone stopped...or a police car there. Chipley does not...and never has had...a speed trap. The police simply enforce the law. They do not deliberately try to "trap" people!
