State Highway 79 near Interstate 70

Hebron, OhioJan 11, 20041 Comments

Located on State Route 79 between US 40 (National Road) and Interstate 70–there is no posted speed limit southbound on this four-lane divided highway. Northbound there is a sign posted at 50 mph. Most of the traffic flows at 65 on this mile-long stretch southbound. Tickets seem to be more likely during off-peak hours when "speed of traffic" cannot be determined. Nearby village of Hebron holds a Mayor’s Court for those caught speeding on this stretch.

Comments:
Ohio and Louisiana are the only two states that have Mayor's Courts. There was an attempt to ban them in Ohio in 2007.
