State Highway 80 near Between Martindale and San Marcos
Cops running radar will stop you for 1 mile over speed limit( even if you are rushing to the emergency room) Martindale is well known around here for the speed traps. Traffic court is a joke. This is the road to Texas State University and they know that kids will most likely not take the time to fight a ticket. There are also issues with the radar not being calibrated but you won’t get anywhere with it. ONE mile over the speed limit will get you a ticket. Count on it.

I was traveling 61 and the officer said his radar clocked me at 73 , impossible I had my cruise control on!! I am not a speed violator. But this definitely seemed abusive , wihtout any explanation of what happened . This will definitely affect the hill country economy and I hope some of the surrounding communities wake up and take this up in their local governments. this Martindale highway 80 , between san marcos and I 35 is a trap.
