State Highway 90 near FM 1409

Dayton, TexasApr 27, 20081 Comments

When entering Dayton, coming from Liberty, the speed limit drops from 65mph to 55mph then to 45 mph in less than one mile. 9 times out of 10, there will be at least one cop car just after the bushes in the median end, facing toward liberty. This is primarily after dark so that you cannot see them until you are right up on them.

Comments:
The speed actually goes from 65mph to 55 mph to 45 mph to 35 mph in just under 1/2 mile and while going up a steep hill into a left turn. They are usually in the median in the middle behind shrubs or to the far left behind bushes or in a parking lot with other cars facing the oncoming traffic. Set your cruise control. If you let off the accelerator and pass the first sign at 55 mph and don't touch it again, you will still be going over 35 mph when you pass the last sign. I got a ticket for 37 mph at that point.
