The Palos Park coppers make no bones about this speed trap. They will boldly sit right in the center median facing north. If you are heading south around the bend in the Forest preserves you don’t see them until it is too late. ANd if you are heading north you pop over the hill to see him sitting right there. Make no mistake this should be a 55 MPH zone but it is a 45. It is the Forest Preserves and the 55 zone drops to 45 right at Route 83. At one time when this was only 2 lane the speed limit was only 40MPH. It is the only road I know of where they actually raised the limit! But not enough. Watch yourself here.
