Route 53 is a state route with speed reduced from 55mph to 35mph for "NO" reason related to safety. The portion monitored is arrow straight and with limited driveway (home owner) access. Simply "TRY" to comply with the posted 35MPH and you will find yourself being removed from the tire tread of an 80,000 lb. coal truck. If safety were truly to be served...the speed would be reduced in this area for vehicles weighing over 30,000 lbs. Fines are truly unreasonable (approx. $200). The issuing patrolman clearly enjoys abusing his given authority, and is rude and unprofessional.
