State Highway SR 45 near Keaton Drive Drive
SR 45 in the small city of Damascus, population around 200. Open stretch of roadway with minimal hazards. The new mayor has issued a directive to bring in more revenue, so the Early County Sheriff has stepped up to the plate and officers are writing citations for just a few over the 35 mph limit. Clearly revenue generating tactics. Be careful!

A deputy may have written a ticket or two in the Damascus area, but it wasn't at the direction of the new mayor. There definitely hasn't been any coziness between Damascus city officials and the Early Co. Sheriff's Dept for several decades. If the mayor had made any such solicitation to the sheriff, I can promise she would have been politely — or not — told where to put it!
