Celina officers on motorcycles and in squad cars park up in trees alongside Texas 289 and also patrol the two-lane highway called Preston Road. Default state highway speed in the county is 65 mph but a four-mile stretch north of Celina was lowered to 55 mph; revenue is an obvious factor. Prevailing traffic speeds along Preston are still 65-70 mph (the legal speed before the limit was changed by the City Council.) Limit lowered just 5 mph south of Celina, but enforcement not as aggressive.
