State Highway US 82 near City Limit Crossing

Alapaha, GeorgiaJan 12, 20082 Comments

City patrol car sits in business parking lots among other parked cars. Speed limit drops to 35 from 65, traffic is always light as this is a 4 lane divided highway. Officer was polite and even cordial. He issued the citation for the highest fine he could, and even remarked thatI need not worry, the ticket was not sent in to the state, and no points would be issued on my license. A strictly revenue making proposition for the town.

Comments:
First off the speed limit on U.S. 82 traveling west drops from 65 to 55 for about 1 mile before town then it drops to 45 mph. Nowhere is it 35 mph on U.S. 82. It is 35 mph on U.S. 129 a north and south route.

Yes,this is a speed/traffic ticket trap. This minute town of approximately 600 people(mostly black) has two or more( black) police officers,a black mayor and a bunch more blacks running the town and city hall(ticket depot). They are all making a living off of traffic tickets.Probably mostly white people who work for a living.I believe that could be translated as racism too.Except for the fact that blacks are not racist, their just victims of discrimination.B.S.
