State hwy 63

Clark, MissouriAug 20, 20180 Comments

Hwy 63 a divided highway runs north and south. The speed trap is located on hwy 63 at the community of Clark. Clark has a population of 263 people. There is no reason a town of this size should annex a section of hwy 63 which is over one mile from the town and is totally seperate from the community. The annexation of hwy 63 is to generate income for this tiny town. From working as an officer for 29 years I am very well aware how radar works and there is no way he could have clocked me at any speed since I was past him before he pulled onto hwy 63.

As a retired officer this is very disconcerting. I was stopped with my cruise control on 70 mph. When the officer stopped me he lied and said I was doing 86 mph. I was shocked to say the least. I have yet to appear in court but I certainly plan on it win or not.

This town had it’s police department disbanded several years ago over being a speed trap. It was only in the last few years they were able to reinstate the department.

The officer was very unprofessional and confrontational. I asked a state trooper later about speed traps on hwy 63 and he said “you mean Clark”? Of course I said yes.

Should you be stopped and surely cited file a complaint!
