Speed drops, for no apparent reason, from 55 MPH to 35 MPH for a two-mile stretch.

I live in Limestone,NY Rt 219 drops from 55 mph to 40 mph for 1 mile. Which is the one mile with in the village limits. This was done because we have on grade intersections and we had several motor vehicle accidents that were fatal. There were studies by the state and voting by the citizens to get the speed limit reduced in the village which had three intersections in that "fatal" mile. It might feel like a speed trap but for our people it has saved a lot of lives which is far more important.
