If there was ever a place that personified speed trap, 11 through Atkins is the real deal. Coming off the 81 exit and headed down 11 toward EMU, that whole stretch is a crapshoot full of radar and cops including VSP who sit in the lot full of trailers gunning you. I used that exit for four years going to and from EMU to my home state of PA and after all the stories and expensive lessons I mean tickets I bought a V1 and it was the best thing I could've done for myself as a broke college kid. I saved more money and hassle having it that it paid itself off pretty fast. I told all of my friends and most of them went out and bought one, granted VA doesn't allow them and they have a nasty habit of taking them, breaking them, and destroying them on the side of the road right in front of you just to show they mean business. VA has far too many money hungry towns who depend on tickets and using college kids and out of towners to bankroll their budgets, I'd rather take the chance. It saved me a bunch of times, and saved my girlfriend as well when she borrowed mine for her car, she went out and bought one for herself. Coming from Ohio, land of speed traps and legalized roadside robbery I'd say she knew a thing or too about the subject. Myself coming from PA which is rife with dying towns and far too many small town police forces that rely solely on ticket revenues and exploitative methods to support their budgets or just to continue their parasitic existence, I know a thing or two as well.
