Comments:
This is not entirely true. Rt 19 is full of speed traps. Going south when approaching Fayetteville the speed limit is 65mph and is reduced to 50. However you do have time to slow down. I am considered a local but I live 5 miles outside town and have tearned to watch my speed because the cops don't care who they ticket that is speeding. I have gotten severel tickets from the Fayetteville cops over the years. They are just as active on this road during the off season as they are during tourist season. They really love winter because they have more night time hours to be able to hide better to catch us. However they will ignore ANY vehicles doing 5mph over the limit. I know because I drive 5 over all the time and have never been stopped. Another reason I know that they do not target tourists is because the Chief is a friend and he has given me 2 tickets for speeding. One of his patrolmen is also a friend and he has given me a parking ticket for illegal parking at the local Walmart and will give me a speeding ticket if he ever catches me speeding.
