State Route 22 near Dixon Street

Borough police like to sit beside the old Bonarrigo/Tri-Star Ford dealership on the westbound side of state route 22, directly across from Dean’s Diner. The speed limit here is 50 mph, which I feel is low for a 4 lane divided highway in the semi-rural setting of Blairsville. Vascar method I think, but not sure. Route 22 changes to 4 lanes 1/2 mile west of this spot, so as eastbound travelers finally get a passing zone and depress the pedal a little, suprise, there’s the local law. Westbound travelers have just gone through a commercial area a mile east with a couple traffic lights, and just want to keep moving, and suprise, there’s the local law. It’s the perfect place for the police to sit, but it’s all because of the speed limit being too low, and it just happens to be inside borough lines. Also it’s common knowledge that one officer on the force has become devoted to enforcing traffic laws, especially speed limits. Dean’s Diner has even changed their marquee on the eastbound side to read "watch your speed" because the state police are also known to patrol this stretch of highway.
