State Route 3 near Kitsap Way

Bremerton, WashingtonMay 25, 20072 Comments

Traveling towards Bremerton from Silverdale, posted limit of 60 slows down to 50 as you round a corner approaching the Kitsap Way exit. Traffic routinely continues at 60, but there is often an officer on the overpass with a radar gun.

Comments:
"Traffic routinely continues at 60,", is right, but I have never seen anybody caught.

State Patrol usually camp out on the median just before the Kitsap Way exit. I've seen people get pulled over there a lot...I drive it every day at different times of day. Going south bound just cresting from a long uphill grade where everyone is doing 60+, the posted limit does all of a sudden go from 60 to 50, and as you round the curve and come over the crest, you don't see the State Patrol until it's too late. I'm always careful around that bend going up the hill. Also, further down between Kitsap Way exit and Loxie Egan/National exit is another place the State Patrol like to camp out and nail people as they come around a curve. In both places, there's a slight rise to the road, so it creates a blind spot for the driver until it's too late, and you're nailed with the gun.
