Two Traps to report here:
1) When coming into the Town of Canandaigua, on State Route 332, when you go around Infotonics, the speed limit changes from 55mph to 40mph. This is a hot spot for Troopers because the Troop E Headquarters are shortly down the road in Farmington. They will sit in the middle of the road, you will not see them until it is too late. If they don’t sit in the middle of the road, sometimes they will sit in an outlet on the right side before the Centerpointe Apartments sign.

2) The notorious hill headed towards the I-90 Thruway from the City of Canandaigua and other surrounding area is an easy place to get a ticket. There are two traps I have seen here — The first is headed towards the I-90, when you go up the hill, there is an outlet where you can’t see them, but there is nearly a Trooper there everyday, because it is not hard to go over the speed of 55mph going up the hill. They sit in the position so that they would be able to nail someone heading in either directions, and I have seen it happen.

The other trap I have seen, but not as frequently, is heading down that hill, going toward Canandaigua, I have seen troopers hide behind the trees in a private residents’ driveway and nail them there.

For other notes, watch going by Clovermeadow Lane in Farmington, it’s an outlet of 332, and sometimes Troopers hide there, because you would never see them, and it is very close to their headquarters. Also, never turn right on red coming out of Farmbrook, because it’s now illegal, and if you turn right on red, you are turning right next to the Troop E Headquarters.
