State Route 36 eastbound Tuscarawas County

Newcomerstown, OhioJul 05, 20101 Comments

Route 36 four land divided highway drops to 55 mph at the Coshocton/Tuscarawas County line. State Highway Patrol park in the grass between an exit and entrance ram and run radar as you come down hill and around a slight curve.
Heavy enforcement on three day week-ends. Got stopped on Sunday July 4th. On Monday return trip in p.m. two Highway Patrols had three cars stopped in the same area. Sixteen to 25 mph over limit, first offense, will cost you $135.

Comments:
Newcomerstown when I lived there had a terrible reputation as one of the worse small towns in the state of Ohio for anyone traveling on U.S. Hywy # 36, and old U.S. #21. There were plenty of Barney Fife's that reaked havouck on most out of state drivers and especially the truckers. I have friends living there currently that tell me that it is even worse today because interstate #77 runs out of the Newcomerstown local fuzz's jurisdiction, so the Newcomerstown Fuzz are even more hungry for fresh meat , especially when they spot an out of state license plate. So when you enter the city limits of Newcomerstown, Ohio........... You are game. The Barney Fife's stops people for anything, even if the vehicle is dirty from road silt, seems as they look for any excuse to make a traffic stop, and generally it winds up to a costly traffic violation. The revenue $$$.$$ are scarce with today's economy, and this town's Boss Hogs are starving for for lack of those easy $$$$. So be extra vigilant when driving any vheicle or anything, even a bicycle, these are a greedy/hungry bunch of Law Dogs.. Heads up people ! You have been warned !
