State Route 38 Roosevelt Road near President Street
Enforcement is high any time of day, but especially at night. The police are constantly pulling cars over. Expect to get pulled over randomly at some point for some frivolous reason. (Odds are higher if you don’t drive a luxury car, although luxury cars get pulled over too.)
About twice a year, the police force will set up speed traps in this area during a.m. rush hour with officers sitting in lawn chairs with their laser devices – police cars are waiting up the road to pull offenders over. There have also been numerous "safety checks" at night where police detour all cars into the Target parking lot (at County Farm Rd.) to perform various checks on the drivers and cars.
An interesting addendum:
The local newspapers recently published an article stating that Wheaton is now prosecuting their own DUI cases in hopes to increase annual revenues by $400,000. Previously the State’s Attorney prosecuted all of Wheaton’s DUI cases.
