State Route 44 near Mentor Road
Route 44 south before Chardon city limits is a State Highway Patrol station. Officers travel constantly on Route 44 to get to/get back from Route 90 East/West and Route 2 East/West. Most local people know this. Officers will write tickets at any time of day but more often at the beginning and ending of their shift as they are leaving the station. I was issued a ticket on a dry, sunny day for 59 mph in a 55 mph zone with the wife and family in the car.
