Martindale has extended their City Limits beyond the city for about 1.5 miles each direction strictly to encompass the highway before you get to town. The officers sit at the extended City boundaries and run radar in a rural sitting where the last posted sign is miles away. The nearest sign is located as you enter the town well inside of the boundaries.

Their fee is $5.00 per mile over plus $93.00 court cost. If you ask for deferred disposition they almost double the total amount. In my case the fine was $158.00 and $293.00 for deferred disposition. It’s all about the money.
