State Route 9 near 301 Bypass

Clio, South CarolinaNov 07, 20051 Comments

The speed limit goes from 45 to 25. Then you go around a curve to the right and the police will be sitting off to the right in a field ready to pounce.

There is an alternative route that allows you to bypass this town. It is actually quicker than going through the town of Clio (even with two stops signs along the way) with the added benefit of avoiding the speed trap. It is patrolled by state troopers and sheriff deputies, so don't speed there either but at least you don't have to worry about false charges. From the west take a right outside of Bennettsville on Hebron Dunbar Road and stay on it until you rejoin No 9 in Dillon County. The road name doesn't change so from the east take a left on Hebron Dunbar rd. (it's by a large microwave tower that is hard to miss.) There are two stops signs along this route, but enjoy the fact that you're avoiding Clio.
