Coming out of the center of Hampden is Route 9 joining into 202. The speed limits stay low until well outside of the center. The tendency is, of course, to speed up once past the town offices. Don’t. Local law enforcement like to patrol this stretch–it’s easy pickings, especially at rush. Same goes for the sections of 202/9 to the town line going westbound. The limit is 55, varying down to 35 at intersections of popular cross roads. Again, easy pickings. So–slow down.
