You cannot drive on Route 9 at any time and not see two or more police cars pulling people over for going faster than the 40MPH posted limit which was 55MPH. This is the highest money maker area in Saratoga County. For this reason noone should use this highway . It can be bypassed by using the Northway I-87. Especially at night. I no longer use the walmart , advance auto,restaurants,garden center and never drive in this area. Its well worth it for residents and visitors alike to shop elsewhere than in Clifton Park-Halfmoon. There are more Sheriffs cars and NY State Police cars in this area than any other part of the state since it is so lucrative. Clifton Park and Halfmoon rely heavily on traffic fine revenue to pay their employees.
