State Route Rt. 59 near Wal Mart exit

Plainfield, IllinoisMar 17, 20062 Comments

Plainfield Police sit at North Wal-Mart Exit clocking South Bound 59. Stere is a stop sign for Wal Mart traffic and they make the intersection hazardous.

Comments:
I have seen police cars sitting behind the Wal-Mart road sign monitoring soutbound traffic on many, many occasions. You can't see the squad car until you pass the road sign!

90% of these Plainfield "speed traps" are simply streets on which people violate the posted speed limit. This being one example. "Speed trap" implies a condition of the roadway or geography landscaping which implicitly encourages a higher speed than it actually indicated. Areas of rapid speed limit changes, etc. Route 59 has a speed limit of 45. Period. Not hard to figure out.
