Although they pick several hiding places along the descent into Homer, the typical location is behind one of several pull-offs on the right (southwest). The road down from Diamond Ridge is steep and it’s easy to unwittingly gain momentum and exceed the speed limit that is set at a mere 45 MPH long before you descend into town.
