Sheriff or local Wallkill police are 85% of the time parked close to the meeting hall. If you are traveling towards the Fire House you will not see the the police car until you start passing him.
Coming the opposite direction you will see him when it is too late, since he has the radar facing your direction.
My cheap detector saved me dozens of times.
