SW 1st Street & 5th Ave (Entering Downtown)

Miami, FloridaFeb 01, 20020 Comments

Police officers park their motorcycles behing a large vehicle (i.e Van). The area is a few yards before entering a bridge to enter the downtown area. Traffic generally moves expeditiously yet safely in this area. 30mph is an urealistic speed limit and the officers are aware that in the AM rush hour that speed limit will be largely ignored. Meanwhile traffic in this area can generally be viewed as safe, the officers take advantage of the posted speed limit to exploit us consumers. Speeding tickets should be used for wreckeless driving and not for taxpayers on their way to work everyday. Speedtraps should be used in areas where there may be drunk drivers and this way they will serve the purpose intented of “making the road a safer place””. “
