If you are considering taking the ferry out of Mustang Island to get back to I-37, think again, you have to go through Taft Texas on U.S. Hwy.181. I am very aware of the fact that these small towns are in need of revenue so I was cautious of the speed limit coming into and going through town. All the signs that I saw posted were for 45 mph on a 4 lane major Hwy. Apparently there was A sign for 30 mph posted that I missed. On my way out of town I got a ticket for doing 45 in a 30. These small towns are having a hard time getting qualified officers due to a low salary. This is a speed trap to supplement their income.
