Arguably one of the highest speed enforcement towns in the entire country, Whitman police hide anywhere and everywhere. But especially on Route 27 = Temple Street, between Route 18 and the Brockton line. Temple Street was originally 4 lanes; but was reduced to 2 lanes about 10 years ago. Mostly straight and flat, the 40 mile per hour speed limit is difficult to maintain. Recommend use of cruise control. Also, No Warnings! That is police department policy, no matter age or driving record.
