They trap heavily on I-80 (Toll Road) between the Lake Station and Gary exits, sometimes even working in teams. If you're westbound, they hide in the center around a lefthand curve just past the Lake Station tollbooth onramp, hoping you didn't notice the speed limit went from 70 to 55 partway between Portage and Lake Station. They trap going eastbound just to pick up something extra on the way back to their favorite starting point. I've been on a motorcycle, and seen them way ahead, and tried to warn cars passing me by waving an arm, and the cop almost broadsided me trying to make his U-turn to chase them. Luckily the grass and gravel off the pavement was firm enough to dirt-track it on. Still wonder if I could have gotten a ticket for trying to warn others. Not to mention a fat lawsuit on the State Police if they had decked me.
