This speed trap has cost Longview many, many dollars.

Between 1988 and 2015 I passed through Longview about four times each year. I always purchased food, fuel, and many times stayed in motels. I liked Longview. I estimate that I spent several thousands of dollars there. In 2015 I was cited for exceeding the 50 km/h limit. I was guilty. I paid the fine. In the past seven years I haven’t spent a single dollar in Longview, and I never will again. Is this type of speed trap really worth it to the people of Longview?

Comments:
April 2022, Longview got us as well, the fine $322 Canadian. Driving northbound on 22 we passed through the village and as we left the populated area a motorhome pulled out in front of us. The road had become two northbound lanes, no homes or people so we passed but the speed limit was still 50. Yep, you got us but it will be the last dime your community ever gets from us. Gas food and lodging will be had anywhere but Longview, you've certainly taught us a lesson. I recently sent the Mayor of Longview a letter stating my displeasure at using law enforcement for revenue generation, I'll be interested to see if I get a response
