The speed limit in this area goes from 65 outside the city limits to 55 within the city limits in a time of around 6 seconds, as soon as you see the sign and start to slow down you dont have a chance, when you get to the bottom of the overpass the police officer is there waiting on you and its to late. When they patrol this area they give tickets out all day long one after another. This I know because i sit on the porch and watch them. But if you go to Gallia Street a residential area right next to the highway motorist go 55 and 60 in a 35 MPH zone and residents parked on the street have to make a run for it to get in their car. I walked over and asked the officer one day why he doesnt come over and patrol Gallia Street from the Bridge to St. Rt. 140 where the taxpayers need patroling to slow motorists down so they could get in their cars where they have to stand 4 feet away waiting for cars to pass going 60 MPH so they can get in their car, his reply was "its dangerous for me to give tickets over there, people go to fast and its to dangerous for me to get in and out of my cruiser". Duh!
