U.S. Highway 195

Colfax, WashingtonJan 25, 20103 Comments

Not only do you have the Colfax City Police, Washington State Patrol and Whitman County Sheriff that will write you a ticket but also, I have actually seen them, the Washington State Department of Fish & Game patrolling and writing tickets. The Washington State Patrol will ask their Game Department for help on busy college weekends.

Comments:
What is the definition of a speed trap? The speed limit is posted. Drivers frequently exceed it. Those of us of live here, drive here, and walk here actually would like more attention to be paid to drivers who do not stop for pedestrians in crosswalks. I personally have stopped in an outside lane to let a pedestrian cross, while drivers in the inner lane and the two on-coming lanes just whizzed by until I flashed my lights and stuck out my arm. Some kid is going to be killed in one of the crosswalks. Please drive with care in Colfax, Washington, and please observe the speed limit. Thank you.

I am a Colfax resident and too often do I see people speeding through town. I know the slow speed limits seem a bit rediculous to people just driving through but for us it is just another way to keep our children safe.

OK, in the "residential" and/or business areas, 25 mph is reasonable; where you folks in Colfax show your true intent is having ridiculous speed limits 5 miles on either end of your little burg. It is how you make your city budget. We used to stop there going through, for gas, or incidentals at the Rosauers store....or "Tick" Klock drug. NO MORE. Since you started your "blue lights fund raiser", we haven't spent a dime in your sad little town. Never will.
