U.S. Highway 93

St. Ignatius, MontanaFeb 22, 20103 Comments

Speed goes down to 45 near town. If you read the tickets in the paper, they are All for speeding here, local cops do nothing else but sit on the highway and wait for you to drive by at 5 over. I overheard a highway patrolman talking about a discussion with a St. Ignatius cop – St. Ignatius cop didn’t want HP taking any of their revenue. City council budgets based on this revenue.

Comments:
This is not a speed trap. Look at all of the Oversized 45MPH speed limit signs. And by the way, read the local paper, they were all cited for at least 10 over, as far as I can tell. Oh, and from what I can gather on the subject, speed in the city limits of Saint ignatius is a City Ordinance. Therefore, it does not go on your record, and is actually cheaper than a state code in a restricted zone. Know your facts before you post.

This portion of hiway 93 is some of the newest and safest roadway in the state of montana and there is no reason to slow the traffic down to 45 mph other than to rape the driving public out of their money ... This is a speed trap , I dont care how big the signs are . I have never subscribed to the notion that its only ok if the goverment says its ok

A City Ordinance does go on your personal records and it will make your insurance go up. They should put the 45 sign where the 55 sign is. Or people such as myself should pay more attention!
