U.S. Hwy. 101 About 2 Miles North of Piercy, Near Garberville
Traveling North on U.S. Hwy. 101, after reaching the top of a hill, there’s a long downhill stretch where there are two lanes in each direction. The CHP will park under the only overpass for miles, in the shade, facing South, on the opposite side of the highway. It is a radar trap. Once you reach the top the “blind curve” and start to go down on the straightaway…you’re already clocked on the gun.
I was told I was going 80 (In a ’05 Toyota Sequoia). He wrote “70+” on the ticket (in a 65 mph zone) and the ticket was still $400.00 — even with my clean record. A true “Troll” experience, bridge and all.
