US 211
WARNING: Two State Troopers and several sherifs deputies patrol this stretch regularly. Particuarly around Washington, Va. and Massies Corner. On 2 seperate incidents at night, the sherifs deputy has made high speed intercepts at night WITH NO LIGHTS ON HIS VEHICLE. No headlights, nothing until he flips all his lights on ~15 feet off your rear bumper. Anyone who is ticketed in this area is advised to take the ticket to trial. Especially if this occurence involves pursuit at night with no lights. Requisition the video tape from the patrol car before court.

The state police especially set up speed trips during the summer months to catch tourists traveling to and from the mountains or valley on US 211. They man speed trips even late at night when there is almost no traffic on the 4 lane US 211. There is almost no safe stretch of road between Warrenton and Sperryville for the police continue to change their locations. It is safe and easy picking for police since the traffic is always light. If you drive over 60 they are going to get you.
