US 395 within the city limits of Lee Vining
As I sat on the patio of a restaurant overlooking US 395 today, I witnessed 5 seperate vehicles being pulled over and given citations by Mono County sheriff’s suv’s during the time it took me to eat lunch. The speed limit within the city limits is 30 mph, and I would suggest that you not exceed that limit if you find yourself in Lee Vining. This is the most blatant and aggresive speed trap I’ve ever heard of.

The Mono County Sheriffs are PREDATORS OF THE FIRST ORDER. And they have been doing this for years. If you are brown or black, drive an older car they assume you are a drug runner and will look for any excuse, legal or illegal to pull you over for a search. BEWARE. I had a good friend who was pulled over for being "brown while driving" and after they found he was not a drug runner all charges were dropped. Ask a local attorney and they will all tell you about Mono County Sheriff.
