US 41 From Charlotte County Line To River Road
North Port Police sit in median anywhere along 41 in their city. They have a very low tolerance from the posted limit. I have seen cars pulled over that were no more than a couple MPH over the limit. I travel this road twice daily and see them at all hours….Be careful.

The speed limit is 55mph for almost 2 miles past River Road then drops to 45mph. This is because of numerous side streets, crossings, mobile home parks and businesses. Many people are comfortable with the 55mph+ speed and some refuse to slow down. This is VERY dangerous because elderly residents from the mobile home parks pull out in front of you while others come shooting across from side streets. Also, people turning left from the other side at the several traffic lights cannot see cars coming and will also pull out in front of you. Going the speed limit through this 3 or 4 mile stretch of North Port is critical. The North Port Police are there to protect people. This is not like other speed traps I've seen where the speed limit changes drastically for no apparent reason and there are numerous cops waiting.
