Beginning at City limit at Senior Center to Hardin Lane/Old Knoxville Highway intersection, Highway Patrol or City Police or both working together. Speed limit goes from 55 MPH to 45 MPH to 35 MPH in less than 1/3 of a mile.

Comments:
This is at a long straight stretch of road. Reduced speed limit signs are posted and you have ample time to slow down. People just do not want to slow down. They are approaching a very congested area and the speed must be reduced due to safety.

How about some illumination of this long dark stretch of road and instating a rule that bans dump truck caravans from operating at night? If you are not familiar with this area and are driving at night you cannot see the atypical speed reduction, especially when large vehicles are blocking view of traffic signs, forcing law abiding citizens to unknowingly break the law. This is the epitome of a speed trap and the articulation utilized by the prior comment sounds like LEO or other entity benefiting from these ethically questionable tactics of obtaining funding.
