The 45 mph limit has been extended much past the gas station at the turn on County Rd D and is strictly enforced especially at night. The extension of the lowered limit is in an area without any development and a definite revenue motivated speed change.

In addition to this being a speed trap, I think that Lawson is probably cooking their books. Missouri has a state law prohibiting a city from obtaining more than 35% of their operating revenue from traffic citations. According to the Missouri State Auditor's Office, Lawson only issued 175 speeding tickets on a US Hwy in 2011. How is it that they can justify having an officer sitting there every night for a ratio of 0.5 per day?
