Driving North on 83 with flow of traffic in Menard County, Texas. Which was mine and and two other vehicles. Speed limit 75 before “center of town”. Speed drops by 5mph which seems like every 60 feet. Did not see no 40MPH or a “center of town”. As the county sheriff said “it is not much, but it is the center of town”. the Rief of the Shire decided to choose me for a ticket. He was very polite, as i was very respectful. ironically he pulled me over in front of a speed limit sign that said “speed limit 75”. He gave me a ticket for going 55.
While in San Angelo, Texas at the visitor Center the volunteer stated that Menard County is notorious for the speed traps. I drove back to San Antonio north of Menard County, was not giving any more money to that banana republic. Extorting money out of those passing through i have no doubt. I will add the Officer was very polite. I am sure he was since he brought in money to pay his salary.
