July, 2010: When we moved to Verndal from the Los Angeles area, just over 2 years ago, we heard from many area residents to 'drive careful' because the Township of Verndale, IS noted as one of the "top 3 speed traps" in the entire state of Minnesota. Yes, at first, we did observe that some cars were stopped at different hours. Although in a short period of time we came to realize by our observations of people's driving habits that the police were 100% warranted in enforcing the laws. Bluntly the majority of drivers; younger, older, male, and female, honestly were not heeding 'the rules of the road' which are enacted by the Federal, State, County, City, and Town governments. Thase many were driving like they were on I-94, or any "interstate highway." In conclusion, (1) obey the speed laws, (2) do not drink and drive, (3) buckle-up your children first then yourself, and (4) keep OFF your 'cell phone.' PLEASE "Do Not Become A Negative Highway Statistic"
