You must have been traveling at a goodly speed to get a ticket in Gold Beach. The Speed limits signs are clearly marked and in plain view and not blocked by brush or other objects. The signs have signs that are posted well ahead of the speed limit signs stating 40 MPH speed limit ahead, 30 MPH speed limit ahead and School zone 20 MPH when lights are flashing. The trouble is a good deal of People feel this is just a small town, why should I slow down, It will take at least a minute or two away from my trip. If you got a Ticket you were speeding and that's it. own up to you bad habits. A Lot of out of the area people hardly slow down through Gold Beach at all and a good deal of locals think they shouldn't have too, right up until they get there Ticket. If you want to speed through Gold Beach, do it between the hours of about 2 AM to 4 am. You can probably run the stop signs and not get stopped. The police won't have to ask for your drivers license you have most likely already lost.
Gold Beach at Hwy 101 (declined hill at bridge) is a definite speed trap. All the locals know it as such. The decline is deceiving. You are traveling at 30 mph and the decline is so gradual, you don't know the increase in speed even though you have taken your foot off the accelerator. You must brake all the way down to maintain a 30 mph speed. They are waiting for you.
