Any police officer monitoring the speed limit of 45 mph on Highway 167 is protecting you or someone you love from bodily harm or death. There have been two traffic engineering studies along 167 at 82, one by Arkansas and another by the federal government, both at the request of the Arkansas Higway Commission. For years there have been "accidents" on a monthly basis with at least two deaths! This is a dangerous intersection! I, personally, used to go through this intersection every day. Since May 2002 I have changed my traffic patterns. That was the month my son died because an 18-wheeler was going well over 65 mph in the 45 mph zone. I am so thankful that traffic lights have now been installed.
