State/county troopers will lurk in the median after dark, mostly near the US 17N/VA 134 (Magruder Boulevard) interchange and for about a mile and a half north of the interchange…speed limit is 45 mph on a divided four-lane highway. they mostly focus on drivers coming off 134 at 55 mph and not reducing speed to 45 mph on US-17, although they pull plenty of people traveling southbound. They’re also known for hiding "in the weeds" on the Northwest corner of the stoplight at the Raceway Gas Station…looking for drivers running the red light at the intersection of US-17 and Ella Taylor Drive in York County…trust me—-you won’t see ’em till it’s too late.
