Deputies are armed with the Photo radar purchased though Raleigh State Law Enforcemnt Center of Highway saftey against speeders to prevent the slight chance of citizens to get by with driving above the speed limit. This devise will take a a 100% 250 mega pixel high definition photo and video of your vehicle and all the descriptions within. This Photo radar is so accurate it can almost identify the color of your panties while sitting in your car driving at 70 MPH.

Rarely if ever do the Pender County Deputies write citations, they do not want to make the local voters angry! There have been multiple deaths on Hwy 17 going through Hampstead and it is like the local raceway, people rarely observe the posted 45 MPH Speed Limit. If you are visiting the area, watch out the locals will run over you at 65>!
There have been a number of deaths due to accidents in Hampstead the past few years because of increased traffic that development brings. The residents have asked the sheriff's department for more strict enforcement. They will periodically set up a speed trap and enforce strictly. The town does not have its own police dept. so speeding is rampant.
